About this song
Wanksta was 50 Cent's first single released after he signed to Shady/Aftermath. It first appeared on G Unit's mixtape No Mercy, No Fear, then on the 8 Mile soundtrack, and later as a bonus track on the album Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. R&B group Blaque recorded a female version titled No Ganksta. Eminem also recorded his own version in 2003, which is a diss track aimed at Ja Rule.
What it's about
The song takes aim at fake gangsters, a term 50 Cent uses for "wanksta." 50 Cent said in interviews that the track was not aimed at anyone in particular, though he described Ja Rule as a good example of one.
