Aesop Rock
Aesop Rock announced the song and its video on Facebook. He described it as reflecting on his failure as a visual artist and on some regret about not pursuing that path further. Its lyrics are unusually straightforward compared with much of his other work.
The song looks back on the young visual artist he once was and the twenty or more years he spent believing he would build a career in art. It dwells on lost passions, nostalgia, and the 'what if?' question he has about his own life.
