About this song
The song is the lead single for A$AP Ferg's debut album, Trap Lord, and was produced over a beat by Snugsworth. It was a commercial success, reaching platinum certification from the RIAA and peaking at number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video, released in July 2013, shows the two rappers at a luxurious mansion party with other A$AP Mob members, and Shabba Ranks makes a brief cameo. A remix followed in November 2013 featuring Shabba Ranks himself, along with Migos and Busta Rhymes.
What it's about
The song is an ode to Jamaican dancehall legend Shabba Ranks. Ferg and Rocky trade bars about their sexual exploits and compare their exotic lifestyles to Ranks' legendary status.
