About this song
"Wake Me Up" is the lead single from Avicii's first studio album, True, and features vocals from American soul singer Aloe Blacc, who wrote the lyrics on a plane flying from Geneva to L.A. The song was first introduced at the Ultra Music Festival with a live performance by a bluegrass band, and it blends Irish folk music with house beats. It spent 53 weeks on the Billboard charts, peaked at #4, and became the first Dance/Electronic song to stay on that chart for over a year. It also topped charts in 22 countries and outsold Avicii's earlier hit "Levels".
