About this song
Bakar returned after a break of almost nine months with the track, which features frequent collaborator Zach Nahome and French producer SebastiAn over a pop-oriented instrumental. He teased the song and its title on Instagram in August 2021, two days after announcing his comeback. The music video uses many flags, including the Taliban flag, the inverted black version of it, a Yemen flag and a black and white Union Flag.
What it's about
The song takes a stand against the Islamophobia that comes from news coverage of groups like the Taliban, presenting the singer's pride in his Muslim faith. Bakar says he wants to reclaim his Islamic faith and its symbols, which he feels have been hijacked for the wrong purposes.
