About this song
"The High Road" was the leading single from Broken Bells' 2010 self-titled debut album, which peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 200 and #2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart. The song itself peaked at #10. James Mercer of The Shins and Danger Mouse wrote it, and Danger Mouse produced it. Heather Phares of AllMusic said it blends slick electronic percussion with a searching, minor-key melody, and idobi praised Mercer's vocals as soothing and multi-layered.
