About this song
It's the first single Cardi B released with Atlantic Records since signing to the label in 2017. Its chorus and flow are reminiscent of Kodak Black's 2014 song "No Flockin." Cardi said in a 2017 Billboard interview that she wrote the lyrics while listening to the beat on an airplane.
What it's about
The song looks back on Cardi's past as a stripper and points to her work ethic as the reason she has earned her standing in rap. Its title is a play on Kodak Black's name, nodding to her membership in the Bloods and to her light-skinned complexion.
