About this song
This cover of the Black Sabbath song was first released as a single for Record Store Day 2013, before it became the title track of Charles Bradley's 2016 album. The Budos Band backs Bradley on the recording. Bradley told Spin that he had never heard of Ozzy Osbourne before recording it.
What it's about
Bradley connects the song to reconnecting with his mother after decades apart. He said the final lines, about wishing he could go back and change the years, are especially moving to him.
