About this song

The opening track of Circa Survive's debut album Juturna, it introduces the first of the record's central motifs. The song frequently references the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and that theme continues across the album.

What it's about

The song draws on the story of Joel Barish, who undergoes an experimental procedure to erase his ex-girlfriend Clementine from his memory. Many of its lyrics directly relate to that movie plot.
