About this song
"Amoeba" is described as perhaps the most groovy track from Clairo's sophomore album Sling. On August 6, 2021, Rolling Stone posted a video of Clairo and producer Jack Antonoff breaking down the track, explaining some of its lyrics and production.
What it's about
The song is about changing priorities. Clairo has said it reflects how she would neglect calling family and friends, and even eating, while touring, until her hair started falling out from not taking care of herself.
