My Own Summer (Shove It)

About this song

It is the first track and lead single from Deftones' sophomore album Around the Fur. The song is one of the band's most famous, though it did not chart in the US, received considerable airplay on MTV, and reached number 29 in the UK.

What it's about

Chino has described the song in two ways: as a reflection on his irritation with the sun after long nights of recording, which led him to cover the windows with tin foil, and as a reflection on how agitated he felt touring in the summer heat and among crowds.
