On and On

About this song

Written in the summer of 2020, the song came from Djo's frustration with the constant online well-wishing that followed countless tragedies and the news cycle moving quickly on to the next story. It is the fifth track on the album, and Djo, whose real name is Joe Keery, has spoken in interviews about deactivating his Instagram account in May 2021.

What it's about

The song explores how addiction and anxiety are tied to social media and the internet. Its repetitive intro and lyrics mimic endless scrolling before an outro breaks the pattern and criticizes that habit directly.
