About this song
"Nice For What" is Drake's third single of 2018, following the Scary Hours EP released in January. The song is inflected with New Orleans bounce music. It was first teased on social media in early March 2018 under the name "Showin' Off" by Joshua Marley, the son of Lauryn Hill.
What it's about
The song speaks about female empowerment in the digital age. It acknowledges that women pursuing a following and visibility face resistance and hate, while Drake shows he understands and appreciates their hustle.
