About this song
EDEN was nervous about releasing the song because his earlier work leaned heavily on EDM, and this was a straightforward pop track. It went on to become a favorite among his fans at the time. He keeps an extended cut of the song for live shows as a thank-you to fans.
What it's about
The song is an anti-serenade aimed at a girl who assumes he wants her back after she says she no longer loves him. In truth he never loved her, so the sarcastic farewell is a mocking send-off, with the title's hugs and kisses delivered tongue-in-cheek.
Fun facts
- Sampled in 2 other songs, like “Inst.128kpbs by The Spab Project”.
- Covered 5 times, including “XO by Aaron Musslewhite”.
- Written and produced by EDEN.
