About this song
The Weeknd released the song as a Christmas gift for fans after some teasing. It was later revealed to be included on Future's album EVOL.
What it's about
The song takes its title from the word lowlife, which is defined as a bad person of low moral character. Its lyrics detail activities the two artists consider part of a lowlife, such as drugs, alcohol, strippers, cheating, murder and spending large sums of money, and it can also be read as a play on the phrase high life, turning a luxurious lifestyle into an austere one.
