About this song

"Down" is the first single from "Back At The House", a collaborative album between Hemlock Ernst (Sam Herring) and Kenny Segal.

What it's about

The song's imagery draws on religious themes, the arcane and ancient history, with a dense, dissonant web of references that is compared to the work of Modernist poets such as T.S. Eliot.
