HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, KPop Demon Hunters Cast
"Golden" is performed by the fictional girl group HUNTR/X in the 2025 Sony Pictures Animation film KPop Demon Hunters. The song's vocals are sung by EJAE as Rumi, Audrey Nuna as Mira, and REI AMI as Zoey. It topped the Billboard Hot 100, was certified quintuple platinum in America, and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. In March 2026 it became the first K-pop song to win an Academy Award.
The song tells of personal growth and self-discovery, with the group members reflecting on feeling lost and misunderstood, hiding their true selves, and eventually embracing who they are and finding strength as a team. The repeated phrase "gonna be golden" points to their unstoppable potential and a bright future, and also alludes to the Golden Honmoon concept in the movie.
