Believer

About this song

The song was released on February 1 as the lead single for Imagine Dragons' third studio album, Evolve, and it marked the end of the band's self-imposed hiatus that began in 2016. It was featured in a Nintendo Switch commercial that premiered during Super Bowl LI and in the first trailer for Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express remake. Nearly two years later, the band released a remix with Lil Wayne, performed during the 2019 National College Football Championship halftime show. The song also gave its title to the band's documentary about LGBT youth and the Mormon church.

What it's about

The song carries a message about embracing pain and using it as a tool for personal growth, driven by a percussive backbeat and Dan Reynolds' expressive vocals.
