Monsters

About this song

James Blunt wrote the song for his father, who had Stage Four Chronic Kidney Disease and was waiting for an O+ donor. He wrote and recorded it without warning, then played it for his father alone in a room, and his father responded positively.

What it's about

The song is connected to a close, emotional moment between James and his father, a bond the two never had before because of their strict army backgrounds, where men were expected to be tough.
