About this song
Shenanigans was Jasiah's first single after he partnered with Def Jam Recordings in late June 2018, and it was the only song released under that partnership, since he later signed with Atlantic Records the following year. The track was dedicated to Stephen Hillenberg, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, who had died hours before the song came out. Jasiah previewed it on Instagram on November 27, 2018, after pledging to shave his head if he didn't release a song by the end of November.
