About this song
"I'm Real" is the fourth single from Jennifer Lopez's second album, J.Lo. The song drew controversy because Mariah Carey had wanted to use its sample for her track "Loverboy"; after Tommy Mottola blocked the sample clearance, that sample went to Jennifer Lopez instead, and Carey rewrote her track to use Cameo's "Candy". The song samples Yellow Magic Orchestra's "Firecracker".
