About this song
The song was written after Jimmy Eat World had been dropped by Capitol Records following the release of their album Clarity. The band had struggled commercially, since their debut Static Prevails sold only about 10,000 copies, and they chose to finance the recording of the album themselves and keep the new material simple rather than experimental.
What it's about
The song reflects the band's difficult period, offering encouragement not to write yourself off when feeling left out or looked down on.
