About this song
"Run" is the second single from Nectar, Joji's second studio album, and follows his debut album BALLADS 1. It was teased on January 27, 2020, with a tweet showing flowing lava, and its music video came out 10 hours after the song's release on February 6, 2020. Producer Justin Parker, known for work with Rihanna and Lana Del Rey, worked with Joji on the track for the first time.
What it's about
The song finds Joji unsettled by his feelings for someone who has moved on to a new relationship. He feels he has no choice but to run from those feelings, an idea the music video reflects.
