About this song
The Jonas Brothers recorded a cover of Busted's classic. Some lyrics were changed to suit the band's young audience, and a reference to Michael Jackson's record sales was swapped for one to Kelly Clarkson to fit the charts of the time.
What it's about
The song imagines the year 3000 but describes almost nothing about it, which the cover uses to suggest that art struggles to picture a future beyond today's culture.
Fun facts
- It's actually a cover of “Y”.
- Sampled in 4 other songs, like “Your Great Great Great Granddaughter Has Passed Away by Gerald (EDM)”.
- Covered 3 times, including “Year 3000 by Wilmette”.
- Written by Steve Robson, Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne.
- Produced by Mike “Hank” Mangini, Steve Greenberg and John Fields.
