i scream this in the mirror before i interact with anyone

About this song

It is the opening track on JPEGMAFIA's fifth studio album, I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU. The title is likely a nod to Death Grips' opening track "I Break Mirrors With My Face in the United States," and the beat switch at 1:04 is extended and used by FREAKYMAFIACULT on his song "Cult Int."

What it's about

The song's title is a playful reference to his online fanbase, but in the context of the album it reads as a darker realization. Delivering a self-assured, aggressive track as a kind of daily affirmation captures the depressive loneliness that runs through the album.
