About this song
The track was largely inspired by Willie Dixon's blues song "You Need Love," which Muddy Waters recorded. In 1972 Dixon sued the band for copyright infringement, and he was later credited on the song. A cover by Collective Consciousness Society was used as the theme song of the BBC TV program Top of the Pops.
What it's about
The song is Led Zeppelin's most sexually explicit track, with the word "love" able to be swapped for "sex" and "penis" in different sections.
