The World Ender

About this song

The song accompanies a comic book Lord Huron created to go with the album. Lead singer Ben Schnieder has said he wanted it to feel like an origin story from a comic book, partly inspired by weird fiction and comics he was reading at the time.

What it's about

The song tells the origin of a greaser gang called The World Enders, formed by a working-class man whose life is upended and who sets out for revenge. The gang is described as leather-jacketed, slick-haired punks who cause trouble in desert towns.
