About this song
"Shake It" is the fourth track on Metro Station's self-titled debut album. The single was a commercial success, reaching 2x platinum certification in the US.
What it's about
The song captures the excitement of a school dance, where a perfect track finally gets everyone onto the dance floor and the narrator and his friends stop hanging back against the wall. It is played with a light, tongue-in-cheek tone about the awkwardness of teenage romance.
