Kickstart My Heart was the second single from Mötley Crüe's fifth album, Dr. Feelgood. Bassist Nikki Sixx wrote it after an accidental heroin overdose in 1987, when he was declared clinically dead before being revived with two adrenaline shots to the heart. The EMT who gave both shots was a fan of the band.
