I Will Wait

About this song

"I Will Wait" is the first single and third track on Mumford & Sons' second studio album, Babel. It peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and has been certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA, making it the band's most successful song as of 2022. It was also nominated for best rock performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

What it's about

The song seems to tell the story of a man working through difficult times to be with the person he loves. Some listeners hear Christian undertones, but Mumford has said the album is not a statement of religion and that the band is simply writing songs that ask questions.
