About this song
During recording, singer Phil Anselmo struggled with his vocals on one note for hours. Producer Terry Date suggested drinking a sip of liquor to warm his throat, and Anselmo said that helped him finally hit it. Guitarist Dimebag Darrell recorded three solos back-to-back at home, and he kept the first one, which he later ranked among the greatest guitar solos.
What it's about
The lyrics deal with themes of death, doubt, and depression.
