About this song
Released in 1984 on Philip Bailey's album Chinese Wall, the song is a collaboration between Bailey and Phil Collins. It became a major hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching number two in the US and number one in the UK in early 1985. Bailey first approached Collins about writing some ballads for the album, and Collins ended up producing the album and singing on this track.
What it's about
The song is a warning from one friend to another to stay away from a woman he has his eye on. Though she may be easy to get along with, she will treat him the way she treats everyone else and cannot be tamed.
