So Far So Fake

About this song

So Far So Fake is the 11th track on Pierce The Veil's fifth studio album, The Jaws Of Life, released February 10, 2023. The song was written in 2017 and is one of the few songs the band wrote before the pandemic that made it onto the album. It was played on The Jaws Of Life Tour in 2023 and went largely unnoticed until a viral TikTok dance trend in July 2025, when users filmed themselves dancing to the instrumental break, after which it climbed to the top of the band's most popular songs on Spotify and debuted at #88 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of August 16, 2025.

What it's about

Frontman Vic Fuentes says the song is about being betrayed by someone you considered a friend, with a wound that never fully heals and where even an apology doesn't feel like enough. He describes it as angry, sour and difficult to think about, reflecting things affecting his life.
