About this song
"tell me a joke" was the second single from Quadeca's album I Didn't Mean To Haunt You. It was released on October 25th, 2022, and its official music video came out a few hours after the single hit streaming platforms. The track is in a ¾ time signature and features a live drum switch-up for the final chorus, similar to "Sisyphus" from his previous album.
What it's about
The eerie song finds Quadeca trying to cope with his own death through comedy, using knock-knock style jokes in the intro and the start of both verses. The humor is self-destructive, casting him as the punchline of life's jokes.
