About this song
"We Will Rock You" was released as a double A-side single alongside "We Are the Champions" and became one of Queen's biggest songs worldwide, a staple at arena and stadium sporting events. Brian May deliberately kept the song simple and anthemic, with a stomp-stomp-clap-pause pattern, to get live audiences more involved in their shows. The band also recorded a faster, punk-influenced version with John Peel in 1977 that they often performed live. For the video, May used a copy of his guitar rather than his Red Special, and the band performed in the snow in Roger Taylor's garden.
