About this song
The official music video uses three scenes: a soldier leaving his family to return to service, a couple struggling to make ends meet, and a father and daughter separated by her arrest. R. City wanted the video to convey the song's message of perseverance through hardship. The duo has written for Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus, and the song is their breakout hit as performers. Toni Tennille is credited as a writer because the melody sounds much like her song "Do That To Me One More Time."
What it's about
The song explores the anxieties and insecurities in many relationships and asks whether love can survive the most devastating circumstances.
