About this song
The Box peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, beating Justin Bieber's single Yummy by one spot and giving Roddy Ricch his first number one on the chart. Several TikTok videos and memes parodied its production, which helped his debut studio album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, reach number one on the Billboard Top 200 Albums in December 2019. Atlantic Records A&R Keefa Black confirmed that the squeaking sounds making up the track were recorded by Roddy after the song was complete, and producer 30 Roc recalled pushing Roddy outside of his vocal range during its creation.
