About this song
"It's Tricky" is the second track on the album Raising Hell and was released as the fourth and final single from it. It came out on February 8, 1987 through Profile Records, co-produced by Rick Rubin and the group themselves, and peaked at No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. The chorus's cadence is modeled on Toni Basil's 1982 hit "Mickey", and The Knack sued the group over their sampling of "My Sharona" in 2006, a case that was settled out of court.
