About this song
"Tears" is the second single from Sabrina Carpenter's seventh album, Man's Best Friend, following the hit "Manchild." It came with an official music video released alongside the album, which stars Sabrina and actor Colman Domingo and is inspired by cult horror films such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Sabrina previewed the song for the first time at the end of her Lollapalooza set on August 3, 2025.
What it's about
The song is very erotic, with Sabrina getting turned on by the thought of a responsible, respectful man. It serves as a first part to the track "My Man on Willpower," which sees that man leave her after becoming more self-controlled and polite.
