About this song
"Anastasia" is track 8 on Apocalyptic Love, the album by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. Its intro is a classical-style fingerstyle acoustic part, which Slash says was not inspired by Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, despite popular belief. Slash explained that the riff began as a small phrase he stumbled on during a guitar solo on the band's last European tour, and grew longer over time after he kept working on it each night. Once he got home from the road, it became the intro riff, and the rest of the song came together around it.
