About this song
The song is a victory lap for Spoon, reflecting the band's embrace of pop sophistication developed during its time on Merge Records. The text notes that Spoon has outlasted Elektra Records, which was folded into Atlantic to form the Atlantic Recording Group.
What it's about
The song's call to cut out the middleman is read as a response to Spoon's earlier failed dealings with Elektra Records, and its handclaps and horns act as a defiant message to doubters and purists.
