About this song
Released in October 2017, the slow-indie ballad gained attention in May 2022 when a sped-up version of the track went viral on TikTok. The London-based artist traveled to New York City to create sultry visuals for the single, which follow her and her lover, played by Australian model Jordan Barrett, in a retro, timeless style.
What it's about
The song is a portrait of lust, intimacy and eventual loss, as the singer works through the hidden lies of a past relationship. It reflects on a burning love where nothing turned out as it seemed, and on how some people are not meant to end up together, though the reflection remains.
