About this song

Tears For Fears' biggest chart hit peaked at number two in Britain and topped the charts in the US, Canada and New Zealand. The pair almost didn't record it, as they weren't fans of the song and felt its syncopated shuffle beat didn't fit the straight-timed drums of the rest of the album. The song's simple melody and structure have made it easy to cover, with versions by artists ranging from Gloria Gaynor to Care Bears On Fire.
