About this song
"Lonely Boy" is the opening track and lead single from El Camino, released on October 26, 2011. It was paired with a one-shot music video of a man dancing and lip-synching the lyrics. The video was originally planned with a script and more than 40 cast members, but the band was unhappy with the edits, so they chose the extra who had a dance scene instead. It became one of the band's most successful singles, topping several US and Canadian rock radio charts, peaking at number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 in Australia, and winning Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song at the 55th Grammy Awards.
