About this song
"Ophelia" is described as the cornerstone of The Lumineers' second album, Cleopatra. It was the first track written and recorded for that album, and band member Jeremiah Fraites said it made finishing the record feel easier.
What it's about
The song is a reflection on the band's handling of the success they found after their 2012 self-titled debut. Singer Wesley Schultz has said it loosely addresses people falling in love with fame and how that attention is fleeting.
