About this song
"Toes" was the third single from the Grammy-nominated album The Foundation, and it returned Zac Brown Band to the top spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Songwriter Durrette came up with the idea while on vacation in the Florida Keys, calling Brown at 5:30 AM with the intro, and the rest was written in various locations with Mullins and Hopkins contributing as well.
What it's about
The song follows a traveler who relaxes through a beach vacation until he runs out of money, then returns home and keeps relaxing there. It has a laid-back style similar to Jimmy Buffett.
