About this song
"Bang!" was first expected to appear on AJR's Neotheater (Deluxe Edition) with a February 12, 2020 release date, but it was instead added to OK ORCHESTRA, which came out on March 26, 2021. The band teased the song after a month away from social media by sharing its cover art through their Community text messaging service, and they announced it officially on February 2. The song is AJR's biggest to date, reaching No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it was certified 2x platinum by the RIAA in April 2021, tying their 2016 track "Weak" as their most certified song.
