About this song
Scars To Your Beautiful is the third single from Alessia Cara's debut album Know-It-All. Cara first performed the song at TEDxTeen 2015 before it was included on the album, and it was serviced to Top 40 radio on July 26, 2016.
What it's about
Cara has described the song as being about body image and the pressure women feel to feel loved or to love themselves. It pushes back against the idea that there is only one kind of beauty, suggesting that people should not have to change themselves to fit a world that doesn't like how they look.
