About this song
"God Is a Woman" is the second single from Ariana Grande's fourth studio album, Sweetener. The track was teased in the music video for "no tears left to cry" and hinted at again in a behind-the-scenes video for that song. Grande surprised fans by releasing the song and its music video early, announcing it at midnight on July 12, 2018.
What it's about
The song celebrates the pleasures of sex and encourages female sexual liberation and domination. Time Magazine described it as an anthemic, sultry banger, with Grande's voice layered to sound like a choir.
