About this song
Released on 30 November 2021, "Concorde" was the third single from Black Country, New Road's second album, Ants From Up There. The track is split into two main sections, the first tender and mellow, the second more energetic and eruptive. The band described it as exploring a wide range of dynamics, using tension and release.
What it's about
Lead singer Isaac Wood builds several metaphors around the Concorde supersonic airliner, which flew from 1976 until 2003 and could reach over twice the speed of sound. The wordplay is similar to that found on other tracks from the same album.
